Issey Miyake Spring 2008 Fête Dark Silver Grey Pleats Midi Dress

From the Spring 2008 Issey Miyake collection, this dress is made from silver-grey pleated polyester. It features a fabric arranged in tiers of vertical, fin-like folds that extend from the bust to the asymmetric hem of the skirt. The horizontal seams of the tiers are fitted with elastic throughout, providing extra stretch. It has a simple gathered neckline and angular sleeves that fan outward from the shoulders in pleated arcs. Small openings beneath each arm allow for greater ease of movement. The dress culminates in a magnificent bell-shaped skirt with a curving hem that falls in a spiraling asymmetric flounce below the knee at one side of the dress. The nature of the fabric allows for a generous amount of stretch, and is able to accommodate a range of sizes, but is best suited for small/medium.
